Village of Air Ronge
The Village of Air Ronge is a bedroom community located approximately 2 kilometres south of the Town of La Ronge. The Village of Air Ronge has a modest commercial sector including one motel, one gas station, one restaurant, and a few retail operations. There is also a small industrial area located in the Village. Known for its beautiful natural landscape, two times a week garbage pickup, and affordable taxes, Air Ronge is a desirable choice for bargain-hunters willing to commute to work. All streets in the Village of Air Ronge are named after airplanes, which is a tip of the hat to the community's origin as the location of the local airstrip.
There is one public school in the Village of Air Ronge, Gordon Denny Community School (Pre-K-Grade 6). This school only has an English stream, but Village residents can attend Pre-Cam Community School in La Ronge to take French Immersion, if they so choose. The public high school Air Ronge residents attend is Churchill Community School (Grades 7-12), located in the Town of La Ronge. Northlands College's Head Office and River Campus are located in Air Ronge where the Montreal River flows into Lac La Ronge. There are also two schools run by the Lac La Ronge Indian Band: Bell's Point Elementary School and Senator Myles Venne School and LLRIB members who live in Air Ronge can also choose to attend these schools.
